DESIGN OF THE MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE DISCHARGING OF POLLUTANTS THE MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE DISCHARGING (MPD) OF SUBSTANCES INTO A WATER BODY is the mass of a substance in wastewater, the maximum allowable for discharge at a given point of a water body per unit of time in order to ensure an acceptable water quality at the control point.

According to the environmental legislation of Turkmenistan, all legal entities that have stationary sources of discharges of pollutants into water bodies are required to ensure an inventory of discharges of harmful pollutants into water bodies and the development of a draft MPD.

The main standard for discharges of pollutants established in Turkmenistan is the maximum allowable discharge (MPD) - the mass of a substance in wastewater, the maximum allowable for discharge with the established regime at a given point of a water body per unit of time in order to ensure water quality standards in checkpoint.

MPA - the limit on the flow of wastewater and the concentrations of impurities contained in them - is set taking into account the maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) of substances in places of water use (depending on the type of water use), the assimilating capacity of a water body, the prospects for the development of the region and optimal distribution masses of discharged substances between water users discharging wastewater.

The standards for maximum allowable discharges (draft MPD standards) are set for the discharge of wastewater from an existing water user enterprise, based on the conditions for the inadmissibility of exceeding the MPC of harmful substances in the control site or in the area of the water body, taking into account its intended use. And if the MPC is exceeded in the control site - based on the condition of maintaining (not worsening) the composition and properties of water in water bodies formed under the influence of natural factors.

The project calculated the allowable discharges of pollutants, incoming effluents from Aqua culture into a water body. The purpose of establishing MPD standards is to determine the permissible amount of pollutants entering the water body as a result of the enterprise's activities. Ensuring water quality standards in water bodies is achieved through the implementation of a set of environmental measures. The MPD values serve as the basis for monitoring compliance with the established regimes for the discharge (and quality) of water into water bodies and are the main targets.

The purpose of developing the MPD project is to establish science-based maximum permissible discharges into the marine environment, guaranteeing environmental safety and protecting public health, ensuring the prevention of environmental pollution, the reproduction and rational use of natural resources.
